Cooperation with IN VIA and the Kinder- und Jugendzentrum Weingarten

Active involvement to the benefit of society is a central concern of HÜTTINGER's. For this reason, the company entered into collaborations with two social welfare institutions in Freiburg in September 2008. Object of these collaborations: Each party offers the other party something they can benefit from - in a relationship of partners and without money changing hands. Because with this type of cooperation, it is not a matter of donations, but of both sides providing contributions of equal value to each other.

What are the benefits of this cooperation to the two parties?

IN VIA girls discover the world of technology

Learning about technical jobs

The two parties are benefiting equally from the cooperation: HÜTTINGER offers hands-on days to the girls supported by IN VIA Katholischer Verband für Mädchen- und Frauensozialarbeit in der Erzdiözese Freiburg e.V. (Catholic association  for social welfare for girls and women in the archdiocese of Freiburg). In April 2009, ten young women were the first to visit the company under the collaboration scheme. And they were offered practical experience straightaway. Under the guidance of the trainees, they soldered a mono amplifier. Thus, the hands-on days also offer the opportunity of learning something about apprenticeships at HÜTTINGER. IN VIA, for its part, allowes HÜTTINGER managers access to its facilities to gain an insight into its operation under a program entitled "Blickwechsel", which means "change of perspective".

Gain practical experience

HÜTTINGER also made available some work experience places to the young people from the Kinder- und Jugendzentrum Weingarten. The first hands-on days took place in spring 2009. In return, the Kinder- und Jugendzentrum Weingarten sent a dance troupe to perform at the HÜTTINGER summer party in July 2009. Accompanied by lively hip-hop beats, the youngsters presented slick dance routines, providing one of the highlights of the summer party.

How did the collaboration idea come about?

The collaboration idea was born within the marketplace scheme "Gute Geschäfte Freiburg", which can be rendered as "Good deals in Freiburg". This is a forum founded by the organizations Diakonisches Werk Baden e.V., Caritasverband der Erzdiözese Freiburg e.V., Arbeitskreis Evangelischer Unternehmer and Bund Katholischer Unternehmer. It offers companies and social welfare institutions the opportunity of getting to know one another. The aim is to set up collaborations for mutual benefit: partnerships with equal benefits to the companies and the charitable institutions.

Which are the social institutions involved?

IN VIA is a catholic association that accompanies, fosters and supports mainly young people. The work focuses on enabling disadvantaged girls and boys at school, during the transition from school into work and during the integration into training and work.

The Kinder- und Jugendzentrum Weingarten is a social welfare institution that offers children and adolescents living in the Freiburg district of Weingarten comprehensive leisure and socialization support, advisory services, mentoring and social education support.
